Apple has released its new tablet PC dubbed as the Apple iPad. It has a 9.7″ LED backlight display and multi touch screen, which means it allows the user to touch on more than one point on the iPad’s LCD screen at any given time. The iPad is remarkably thin (half an inch) and weighs around 600g (or 1.5 pounds) and uses a modified version of the iPhone OS. This means that iPhone apps will work on the new iPad with its already 140,000 apps available from Apple’s app store.

The iPad is said to me “more intimate” than a laptop and is a great way to access e-books as well as multimedia such as photos, and video. The public has noticed that the new iPad looks alot like a larger version of the iPhone (or an iPod Touch). At a starting price of $499 USD, there is much talk and hype for this device and analysts reckon that Apple has hit the price point for the new iPad right on the mark. Only time will tell.

Data has confirmed that Modern Warfare 2 will officially by the fastest selling game of all time with first day sales topping in at close to 10million copies. This smashes the previous record set by the Grand Theft Auto IV release of 5.9mil copies. The sales are so big in fact that the Infinity ward designed Modern warfare 2 accounted to 22% of total industry game sales for November alone. This really is no surprise since preorder numbers for Modern warfare 2 had already set records in the gaming industry. Total sales for the first 5 days for Modern warfare 2 was said by Activision to be $550mil

Activision has also made claims that it had 8million online players by the 5th day release creating a mammoth sized virtual army. Impressive? its more than the top 5 largest real life armies on this world combined. I personally own a copy of Modern warfare 2 myself (and contributed to Activision’s coffers) and there was an interesting scene in the game that prompted me to do more research. *SPOILER ALERT*….the “No Russian” mission is where the player is depicted as a deep under cover CIA agent involved in a airport massacre. Although the player is not required to take part in the killing of any innocent civilians, they are required to keep pace with the terrorists. Activision has claimed that this mission in Modern warfare 2 was put in as an important turning point in the game and not so much as for shock value. Did I kill the civilians? I didn’t even know I had an option of not having to! : P

Major social networking websites such as Twitter as well as facebook was subjected to a worldwide denial of service attack by hackers which has brought the networking websites down to its knees simultaneously.
